Here is what a question looks like
Resident rights
You are in the middle of giving a resident a bed bath. A coworker opens the door and walks in without knocking.
What should you do?
- A. Tell the resident privacy is hard on a busy unit
- B. Cover the resident and ask your coworker to wait outside
- C. Finish faster and leave the door open on your way out
- D. Keep going, since the coworker is also staff
Show the answer
B. Cover the resident and ask your coworker to wait outside
Residents have the right to privacy during personal care, even from other staff. Being a coworker does not make it okay to see a resident uncovered. Cover the resident first, then kindly ask the coworker to wait.
